Though there are fine examples from other regions, Australia is where Semillon really excels. In the Hunter, Eden and Barossa valleys and in the Margaret River region, the grapes produce bone-dry wines that are low in alcohol and have a wonderful savory, mineral character.

Look out for wines from Keith Tulloch, Brokenwood, Mount Horrocks, Cullen, Tyrrell’s, Henschke, Voyager, Peter Lehmann, Moss Wood, Vasse Felix and Mount Pleasant.
