Moss Wood History - 1997

First vintage of Moss Wood Glenmore Cabernet Sauvignon which was renamed Moss Wood Amy’s in 2002.

In 1997, Clare and Keith negotiated a 3 year contract with Ian Bell, who worked at Moss Wood for 21 years, to buy fruits from his vineyard.
Ian Bell had planted the Cabernet Sauvignon vines in 1990 on his family's land, 10kms north of Moss Wood.

In 1998, the first wine was released as the Moss Wood "Glenmore Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine then became "Amy's Vineyard" in honour of Ian's grandmother, Amy Beers, who owned the land.
