Moss Wood 2024 Chardonnay – Fergal Gleeson, Great Wine Blog

Rating: 5 Stars

Moss Wood Chardonnay 2024 is beautifully balanced. It’s full bodied and intense but doesn’t overpower or over egg complexity.
There is quite a bit to it – wet stone, nectarine, peach, oatmeal and nut. It finishes long with a great citrus line. The savoury, textured mouthfeel is exemplary.
Moss Wood planted Chardonnay in 1976. The Mugford family making wine since ’79
The dry grown plantings were hand picked, whole bunch pressed for malo fermentation in 55% new oak, remaining in barrel for 18 months.
It’s the 43rd edition of Moss Wood Chardonnay and it’s a standout!
