Moss Wood 2014 Amy’s – John Lewis – The Newcastle Herald
From Clare and Keith Mugford’s much-admired Margaret River operation, this vibrant blend comprises cabernet sauvignon, merlot, petit verdot and malbec from the Glenmore vineyard at Yallingup.
It is bright garnet, registers 14 per cent alcohol and has bramble jelly aromas. Intense cassis flavour sings on the front of the palate and elements of mulberry, dark chocolate, licorice, capers and savoury oak combine on the middle palate. Persistent berry fruit characters and dusty tannins meld at the finish.
The Amy’s label dates back to 2002 and honours the late Margaret River pioneer Amy Beers and her family.
