Moss Wood 2023 Pinot Noir – Erin Larkin, The Wine Advocate
The 2023 Pinot Noir hails from a superb vintage in Margaret River—and indeed, wider Western Australia. It was mild in all respects, and from the hundreds of wines I have tasted from this vintage so far, it seems to have extracted the best of most producers and their vineyards, regardless of variety. So here, the 2023 Pinot Noir is so vibrant aromatically, with rose petals and pomegranate, ripe summer strawberry and even a hint of kirsch/vanilla paste. In the mouth, the wine is concentrated and energetic, with ripe red fruits—it is positively bursting with flavor. It is rounded and intense, the finish a little warm, but there is so much to love here. It’s a distinct style, Margaret River Pinot Noir. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
